An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Industrial Electrician to join a growing engineering installation team, delivering permanent and temporary power solutions across the UK. Based from a site on the Wirral, you will work on a variety of industrial power generation projects, carrying out electrical installations, fault finding, testing, commissioning support, and maintenance activities.

Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Install cable containment systems including ladder rack, tray, trunking, conduit, and support structures.
  • Pull, terminate, gland, and test SWA and industrial power cabling.
  • Install, maintain, and fault-find on generators, CHP units, control panels, PLCs, and associated electrical systems.
  • Carry out inspection, testing, and annual electrical service activities, including insulation resistance testing and condition assessments.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of permanent and temporary power systems throughout the UK.
  • Install and retrofit generator control systems, PLCs, inverter drives, power factor correction equipment, lighting, and power supplies.
  • Assist with mains cable installations, switchgear projects, and electrical upgrades.
  • Complete service documentation and defect reporting using digital software.
  • Support apprentice development and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
  • Assist mechanical teams while ensuring electrical safety standards and site RAMS are adhered to at all times.
  • Participate in an on-call rota and respond to customer requirements across multiple sites.

The Successful Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified Industrial Electrician with at least three years' experience working within commercial, industrial, power generation, utilities, or critical infrastructure environments.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Recognised electrical apprenticeship.
  • 18th Edition qualification (City & Guilds 2382 or equivalent).
  • Inspection & Testing qualification (2391).
  • ECS Gold Card.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
  • Experience installing containment systems, SWA cabling, and industrial electrical infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of electrical regulations and safe systems of work.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Comfortable working nationally and staying away when required.
