An experienced Electrical Design Engineer is required to take ownership of electrical and control system design across complex industrial projects from concept through to commissioning. This is a varied, technically challenging role offering full project lifecycle exposure within a growing engineering business delivering international projects.

With a strong UK base and international reach, they are investing in growth and offering engineers the opportunity to work on high-value, technically complex systems.
Description:
- Lead electrical design activities across multiple concurrent engineering projects
- Produce electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD
- Design industrial control systems, MCCs, and power distribution solutions
- Specify electrical components, instrumentation, and control devices
- Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Ensure compliance with IEC, ATEX, UL, and relevant industry standards
- Support manufacturing, F.A.T testing, and commissioning activities
- Produce technical documentation including O&M manuals
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards and processes
The successful candidate:
- HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering (or similar)
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in electrical design within industrial, process, or automation environments
- Strong experience using AutoCAD Electrical (or similar CAD package)
- Good knowledge of control panels, MCCs, and power distribution systems
- Understanding of industrial standards and hazardous area environments (ATEX/IECEx beneficial)
- Practical awareness of commissioning and installation activities
- Strong problem-solving ability and communication skills
- Able to work both independently and within multi-disciplinary engineering teams
