We are seeking an experienced HR Manager - UK and Nordics to oversee HR operations, ensuring compliance and effective management of human resources within the Life Science industry. Based in South Oxford, this role focuses on providing operational HR support to meet organisational objectives.
This role is with a well-established organisation within the Life Science industry. The company operates as a mid-sized enterprise, committed to advancing its field with innovative solutions and maintaining a professional and structured working environment. You will be the sole HR team member for the UK and Nordics, but part of a wider EMEA HR team.
The HR Manager will:
- Manage HR operations across the UK and Nordics regions, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to align with company goals.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and employee development programmes.
- Provide guidance on employee relations and performance management issues.
- Collaborate with leadership to support organisational growth and workforce planning.
- Manage payroll (via outsourced provider), benefits, and compensation for employees across the regions.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Support the implementation of a new HR system (Workday).
A successful HR Manager - UK and Nordics should have:
- Previous experience in an HR management role.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR practices in the UK; other country experience would be a benefit.
- Proven ability to manage HR operations and implement policies effectively.
- Experience in recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in HR software and systems.
- A relevant HR qualification or certification.
Please note that this role requires international travel, as well as travel to one other UK site, which will be heavily dependent on business needs. This means a degree of flexibility in your schedule will be required, but the company will offer this back in return, allowing you to manage your diary as needed.
Competitive salary ranging from £55,000 to £65,000 per annum.
