As Quality Lead, you will be responsible for driving the implementation and ongoing management of the CBAM compliance framework. Working across Procurement, Supply Chain, Commercial, Operations and Finance teams, you will establish robust processes to collect, validate, monitor and report emissions data in line with EU CBAM requirements.

Reporting into the senior leadership team, the Quality Lead will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive CBAM compliance framework across the organisation. You will drive data quality, improve governance processes, and ensure compliance with EU regulatory requirements. You will also act as the key point of contact for suppliers, supporting the collection and validation of carbon emissions data across the product portfolio.

This role would suit an individual with strong analytical skills, a passion for process improvement, and experience managing regulatory, compliance, sustainability, or quality-focused programmes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation and ongoing management of the company's CBAM compliance programme.
  • Develop robust processes for collecting, validating, and maintaining supplier emissions and product carbon footprint data.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all CBAM reporting obligations.
  • Establish data quality controls, governance frameworks, and audit processes.
  • Work closely with suppliers to improve data availability, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Identify compliance risks and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Monitor changes to CBAM legislation and assess the impact on business operations and reporting requirements.
  • Develop performance metrics, dashboards, and management reporting to provide clear visibility of compliance status.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to embed best practice and drive continuous improvement.
  • Deliver training and guidance to colleagues on CBAM requirements and reporting processes.
  • Support wider ESG, sustainability, and regulatory compliance initiatives across the business.
Essential Requirements
  • Experience managing compliance, quality, regulatory, sustainability, or governance programmes.
  • Strong analytical and data management capabilities.
  • Experience working with suppliers and managing information collection processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and a focus on data accuracy and integrity.
  • Experience driving process improvement and implementing effective controls.
Desirable Requirements
  • Knowledge or experience of the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
  • Experience within industrial distribution, manufacturing, engineering, metals, construction products, or a related sector.
  • Understanding of greenhouse gas accounting, carbon reporting, or product carbon footprint methodologies.
  • Experience working with ESG or sustainability reporting frameworks.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, Power BI, SAP, or similar reporting platforms.
