Job Description
The role will predominantly manage the logistics and transport category with elements of maintenance, repairs and operations. Therefore the role will include but is not limited to the following:
- Undertake detailed market analysis, profiling all the relevant categories within the assigned portfolio, this will include the creation of strategic reports outlining procurement and supplier performance and the designing of relevant category plans.
- Previous experience and the ability to prepare, evaluate, and manage the tender and proposal process. This may include but is not limited to general tender documentation, pricing submissions, negotiations, term and conditions reviews etc.
- Identify new suppliers or opportunities with existing suppliers to engage with initial negotiations to improve commercial standing, relationship and other measurables.
- Identify when necessary and then support the creation and implementation of an appropriate supplier relationship management plan with applicable vendors.
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
- Previous experience managing logistics/transport as a category as a part of larger procurement team (essential).
- Previous experience managing logistics/transport operationally (desirable).
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing a category plan.
- Tertiary qualifications within procurement/supply chain, engineering or commerce.
