A German Speaking Finance Manager is needed to oversee accounting and finance operations in a leading think tank and research firm. You will need to support the finance function in their London office which includes liaising with the Managing Director. The candidate must possess strong leadership skills, fluency in German, and a keen understanding of financial management.

Description

The key duties for the German Speaking Finance Manager are as follows:

  1. Maintain and account for purchase ledger including petty cash and cash advances
  2. Process and account for corporate credit cards and staff expenses
  3. Management Accounts, for example Grant reporting, Preparation and reconciliations of accruals, prepayments, and fixed assets monthly
  4. Grant reporting to external funders
  5. Budgeting and quarterly forecasting
  6. Liaising with our German tax advisors in the preparation and filing of VAT returns monthly, yearly including the preparation of tax returns for the IISS-Europe
  7. Support with the implementation of a new finance and expenses system.

Profile

A successful German Speaking Finance Manager should have:

  • Strong German and English communication skills (verbal and written)
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA Accountant actively looking to secure their next position
  • Min 3 – 4 years’ experience in a finance role
  • Willing to travel with expectation of up to 2 trips to London/Berlin each year
