The Financial Accounting Officer will play a key role in supporting the Accounting & Finance department by managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and assisting with reporting processes. The role will be working for an Arms Length Body and be based at a location around north London, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire or Leeds.

Responsibilities:

  • Processing purchase and sales ledgers
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports
  • Perform reconciliations, including bank accounts and balance sheets
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and prepayments
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial insights and analysis
  • Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and clarifications
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems

Profile:

  • Relevant qualifications in accounting or finance (active CCAB studier or AAT Level 4)
  • Experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • An organised and detail-focused approach to managing tasks
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Job Offer:

  • Competitive salary ranging from £33,000 to £35,500 (please note, the top will only be payable if you are studying CCAB or are AAT Level 4)
  • Fixed-term contract offering stability and professional growth opportunities
  • A mainly remote role with 2 days office attendance a month required
