A multiskilled engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of production machinery and site services within a food manufacturing environment. The role focuses on minimizing downtime, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting production targets.

Description:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production and packaging equipment.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform effective fault diagnosis and repair.
- Ensure all machinery operates in line with food safety and hygiene standards (e.g., HACCP).
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete all documentation.
- Work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations at all times.
- Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Monitor and maintain utilities (e.g., steam, refrigeration, compressed air systems).
- Identify root causes of recurring faults and implement corrective actions.
4 on 4 off shift pattern, 2 x 5:00am to 17.00pm then 2 x 17:00pm to 05:00am, 4 days off.
Profile:
- Proven experience as a maintenance or shift engineer in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Strong electrical and/or mechanical engineering skills.
- Experience with PLC fault finding (desirable).
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.
- Relevant engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent).
- Electrical certification (e.g., 18th Edition) - desirable.
Job Offer:
- Salary- £56,393 per annum.
- 22 days holiday, inclusive of bank holidays.
- Over time paid at 1.5 times.
- 12 Cover days to be worked when demand requires - paid at 1.5 times.
