The Multi-Skilled Engineer will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving production equipment within this fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position requires technical expertise and a proactive approach to ensure operational efficiency across the factory.
This opportunity is with a well-established business within the food manufacturing industry, known for its commitment to quality and innovation. As part of a large organisation, the company offers a supportive environment with a focus on operational excellence.
Work on a rotating shift pattern to provide engineering breakdown support for the Site, execute changeovers and continuous improvement activities. Diagnose and overcome operational problems, working with the production team to identify root cause of problems and then suggest and implement improvements to address reliability. Execute PPM tasks and effectively react to unscheduled maintenance requirements with appropriate corrective action. Update the Engineering Team Leader to reorder spare parts used to ensure stock levels are maintained and to control spares in an efficient manner. Actively look for areas of improvement and put forward ideas to improve PPM's, Store Management, Maintenance Day activities and alternative efficient equipment/processes. Takes pride in maintaining the standards in and around own working area and any areas of allocated ownership. Ensures company policies and procedures are always adhered to, and quality, safety, performance, and attendance standards are maintained. Support the technical upskilling programme of the Production Operators (changeovers, shut down and CIP procedures). Understand and operate production equipment and CIP procedures to provide operator cover to an absolute minimum. Takes responsibility for safe operation, fault finding and maintenance of all machinery, as well as own personal safety, and the safety of colleagues. Able to understand and deliver company and best practice quality standards. Has effective communication with all employees ensuring information is communicated effectively and concisely presenting recommendations, plans and decisions in a clear and logical manner. Utilises the allotted time to carry out detailed handovers, ensuring all relevant information is requested and given. Any other reasonable requests made by the Maintenance Manager or Site Leadership Team.
Profile: You will be an experienced electrical-bias Maintenance engineer, ideally from a Manufacturing background, as well as:
- A recognised qualification in Engineering
- Strong expertise in mechanical and electrical maintenance within a fast-paced environment
- Experience of fault-finding within electrical systems
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and practices
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively
- Experience with SAP would be desirable
