This is a newly created Financial Controller position and will act as the number one finance role within the business. The role is broad, hands-on and highly commercial, offering exposure across all areas of finance as well as close collaboration with senior stakeholders.
Michael Page is partnering with a growing international manufacturing business based in Dewsbury. The group operates within the textiles industry, supplying customers worldwide. Following a recent acquisition of another established UK manufacturer, the group now is entering an exciting phase of transformation and growth.
Responsibilities:
- Ownership of monthly management accounts, including commentary and variance analysis
- Oversight of statutory accounts, audit process and external advisors
- Cash management, treasury and working capital control
- Budgeting, forecasting and margin analysis to support commercial decision-making
- Stock control and valuation across manufacturing operations
- VAT returns and compliance
- Business partnering with operational and senior leadership teams
- Supporting group consolidation and intercompany accounting as the business evolves
- Driving improvements to finance processes and supporting future system implementation
- Managing and developing the finance function as the business grows
Profile:
- Professional qualifications in accounting or finance, such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
- 1-5 years PQE with at least 1 year of experience in industry
- Strong technical grounding across management accounts, statutory reporting, audit and VAT
- Commercially minded with an interest in manufacturing and margin-driven businesses
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on, autonomous role
