To support the continued expansion of the firm, our client is currently recruiting a Data Protection Officer in their compliance function.

The successful candidate will be accountable for ensuring the firm's compliance with applicable data protection laws and regulations governing the use and handling of personal data.

Our client is a London-based wealth manager that provides investment management, financial planning, retirement planning, and other financial solutions to individual and institutional clients.

  • Conduct privacy and data protection risk assessments, including evaluating the impact of new activities, systems, and initiatives.
  • Provide guidance on embedding privacy requirements into business processes and recommend measures to reduce compliance risks.
  • Support the ongoing development and improvement of the organisation's data protection framework, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to identify, monitor, and manage privacy-related risks through established governance processes.
  • Lead the management, investigation, and reporting of data protection incidents, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Oversee key regulatory compliance activities, including records of processing, data subject requests, and delivery of data protection awareness and training programmes.
  • Profile

A successful Data Protection Officer should have

  • A strong understanding of data protection regulations, including GDPR.
  • 3+ years of experience within the financial services industry or a related field.
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills.
  • The ability to communicate complex legal and technical information clearly.
  • A proactive and methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Formal risk management experience preferred.

  • Base salary ranging from £60,000 to £70,000.
