Description
- Lead the annual audit process, acting as the main point of contact for external auditors and ensuring all requirements are delivered accurately and on time.
- Take ownership of statutory accounts preparation and year-end reporting.
- Manage all VAT returns and provide expert advice on VAT compliance within a not-for-profit environment.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory, financial, and charity reporting requirements.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Oversee financial controls and identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management activities.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders to provide financial insight and support decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and governance requirements.
- Assist with finance projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.
Profile
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong experience managing audits from planning through to completion.
- Excellent knowledge of VAT and regulatory compliance.
- Previous experience within the not-for-profit, charity, education, or public sector environment is advantageous.
- Strong technical accounting skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a part-time capacity while managing multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management experience.
