This role focuses on ensuring accurate financial reporting within an SME Business Bank. The Financial & Regulatory Accountant will play a vital role in maintaining the Statutory Reporting cycle, high-level regulatory returns (can be learnt as template-driven), and involvement within the FP&A side commercial in the Accounting & Finance department.

Prepare accurate financial statements and reports (IFRS / GAAP). Regulatory returns (high-level - template driven so can be learnt). Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and external audits. Monitor and analyse financial data to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate reporting and data integrity. Keep updated on changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Support the Accounting & Finance department with ad hoc projects and reporting requirements. Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial processes and controls. Assisting with FP&A as well so great opportunity to build into budgets/forecasts/P&L and modelling - Power BI visualisation.
A successful Financial & Regulatory Accountant should have:
- A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, or CIMA).
- Experience in financial reporting within any lender.
- Strong knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
- Proficiency in financial systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within the Accounting & Finance team.
Competitive salary between £65,000 and £70,000. A fixed-term contract for 12 months within the SME Business Banking industry. Opportunity to work in a structured and professional environment.
