Description
- Manage the day-to-day financial control activities for the Accounting & Finance department, ensuring records are complete and reliable.
- Prepare accurate financial reports that give clear visibility of business performance.
- Apply practical knowledge of FRS 102 when producing and reviewing financial information.
- Maintain strong accounting processes to support consistent and timely reporting.
- Review financial data, identify issues and take action to improve accuracy.
- Work closely with relevant colleagues to provide clear financial insight for business decisions.
- Oversee the preparation of financial information for internal use, keeping deadlines on track.
- Ensure accounting activity is carried out in line with recognised financial reporting requirements.
- Lead and develop the finance team, driving performance and continuous improvement
Profile
A successful 'Financial Controller' should have:
- Full qualification with active membership of ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
- Post-qualification experience within a busy accounting environment.
- In-depth practical knowledge of FRS 102.
- Strong experience of financial control and financial reporting.
- The ability to review financial information carefully and resolve issues accurately.
- Confidence in managing accounting activities and meeting reporting deadlines.

- Salary of £65000 to £77000, dependent on the level of experience.
