This Assistant Test Engineer role will suit a mechanically minded Engineer looking to develop specialist hydraulic expertise, while working on a wide range of pumps, motors, valves, gearboxes and hydraulic equipment. You'll be expected to work independently and as part of the team, producing high quality work to tight tolerances with a right first time attitude.

  • Testing hydraulic components such as pumps, motors and ancillary equipment
  • Fault finding and detailed inspection work
  • Compiling test certificates and performance graphs
  • Working on units from a variety of manufacturers

This position offers extensive training and development, making it ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving and is eager to expand their technical knowledge.

We are looking for a practical, reliable and motivated individual who takes pride in delivering high-quality work.

  • NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent
  • Experience working within an engineering, manufacturing or workshop environment
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical or hydraulic drawings and schematics
  • Good IT literacy, including Microsoft Office programmes
  • Understanding of workshop health and safety practices
  • Previous hydraulic testing experience would be advantageous but is not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided.

£13.50 - £16.00 per hour depending on experience
