We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading property services contractor delivering social housing maintenance, planned works, and retrofit projects across Birmingham and the wider Midlands region.
Client Details
Our client is a well-known Housing Maintenance Contractor based in the Midlands looking for a Senior QS to play a key role in the commercial delivery of high-profile housing projects, taking responsibility for both pre and post-contract commercial activities while supporting the successful delivery of programmes designed to improve and upgrade residential housing stock.
Description
- Lead and support the commercial management of social housing maintenance and retrofit contracts.
- Prepare and submit monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), forecasts, and progress reports.
- Manage project costs, value recovery, cash flow, and commercial reporting.
- Agree valuations and maximise project profitability.
- Support the preparation and agreement of final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
- Manage procurement activities and subcontractor accounts from tender through to final account.
- Ensure contractual obligations, notices, instructions, and commercial procedures are completed accurately and on time.
- Work collaboratively with operational teams to improve project performance and commercial outcomes.
- Mentor and support junior commercial team members where required.
- Maintain compliance with company procedures, contractual requirements, and health and safety standards.
Profile
- Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction, property services, or social housing.
- Proven knowledge of CVRs, cost management, valuations, cash flow forecasting, and final accounts.
- Strong subcontractor procurement and management experience.
- Experience delivering social housing retrofit projects.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
- A proactive approach to problem solving and commercial risk management.
- Experience working on SHDF-funded programmes.
- Knowledge of decarbonisation, energy efficiency, or sustainable retrofit projects.
- Experience within planned maintenance or housing maintenance frameworks.
