An established social housing contractor is seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial function across a portfolio of planned maintenance, refurbishment and decarbonisation projects throughout the West Midlands. This is a senior leadership role offering responsibility for a team of Quantity Surveyors, commercial strategy, client relationships and profitable project delivery. Client Details Our client is a well-regarded contractor operating within the social housing sector, delivering a range of planned maintenance, retrofit, energy efficiency and refurbishment programmes for housing associations and local authority clients. With a strong order book and a reputation for quality delivery, they continue to secure long-term frameworks and invest in their commercial teams to support sustainable growth. Description Lead the commercial management of multiple social housing contracts across the West Midlands. Manage and mentor a team of Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors. Ensure robust cost control, budgeting and financial reporting across projects. Oversee procurement activities and subcontractor management. Identify, manage and mitigate commercial risks. Maximise contract profitability through effective change control and value management. Prepare and review valuations, applications for payment and final accounts. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, operational teams and supply chain partners. Support senior leadership with commercial strategy and business planning. Ensure contractual compliance and adherence to company procedures.Profile Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor within the social housing, refurbishment, planned maintenance or retrofit sectors. Strong understanding of commercial management principles and contract administration. Experience leading and developing commercial teams. Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously. Excellent negotiation, communication and leadership skills. Strong knowledge of cost reporting, forecasting and risk management. Commercially astute with a track record of delivering profitable outcomes.
