Management Accountant in Aylesford

As Management Accountant, you will be responsible for producing monthly management accounts, overseeing financial and tax reporting, and partnering with department managers across the business. The ideal candidate will be fully qualified (ACCA) and come with previous experience working within imports / exports and HMRC customs compliance.

Our Mid Kent based client are seeking a Management Accountant to join them on a full time and permanent basis. This opportunity is with a medium-sized organisation known for its commitment to excellence and innovation.

Description

Management Accountant duties include;

• Preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting packs.
• Journal entries for month and year end accounts
• Monthly reconciliation of Balance Sheet controls, including investigation and journal corrections
• Weekly approval of sales invoicing including system maintenance where required
• Preparation of weekly intercompany reconciliations, including internal reporting and resolution of all queries
• Financial Reporting for Commercial teams
• Partnering with Departments and budget holders monthly to review costs vs budget
• Production of Weekly Commercial reports
• Support the budgeting and forecasting processes to guide strategic planning.
• Oversee and complete monthly internal audit
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns and assist with tax reporting

Profile

The successful Management Accountant should have:

• A formal qualification is preferred (ACA, ACCA).
• Experience of working with imports / exports and HMRC customs compliance.
• Strong experience in management accounting within a commercial setting.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
• Confidence in collaborating with various teams and stakeholders.
