Working within a specialist financial reporting team, you will play a key role in supporting the preparation of financial statements across multiple group entities, managing technical accounting projects, and acting as the primary contact for external auditors on technical matters.

The successful candidate will act as the organisation's expert on complex accounting issues, providing expert guidance on IFRS, UK GAAP, regulatory reporting, and technical accounting matters.
Description
Financial Accountant responsibilities include
- Researching, interpreting, and applying IFRS and UK GAAP accounting standards to complex business transactions and new initiatives.
- Preparing technical accounting papers, reviewing contracts, and advising on appropriate accounting treatments and revenue recognition policies.
- Preparing complex Financial statement disclosures and supporting documentation for external audit purposes.
- Acting as the key point of contact for auditors on technical accounting matters and resolving complex accounting issues.
- Leading the implementation of new accounting standards across the organisation and advising stakeholders on the financial reporting implications.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across financial reporting systems, processes, and controls.
- Supporting ad-hoc technical accounting and finance projects as required.
- Profile
The successful Financial Accountant should have
- ACA qualification, or ACCA/CIMA with proven technical accounting experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP reporting requirements.
- Experience within audit, technical accounting, or financial reporting environments.
- Experience preparing or auditing consolidated financial statements within large or complex organisations.
- Experience managing external audit relationships and liaising with professional advisers.
- Advanced Excel skills and exposure to large ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to communicate complex accounting matters clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences.
