This is a hands-on and varied position, ideal for someone who thrives in a busy setting and enjoys getting stuck into the detail. You'll work directly with the Management Accountant and be a key part of the team that ensures the numbers are right, deadlines are met, and reports are delivered on time.

As an Assistant Accountant you'll be stepping into a Wrexham based business that's scaling fast - with multiple entities under its umbrella and a tight-knit finance team that's instrumental in driving performance and commercial insight.

The key responsibilities of the Assistant Accountant include:

  • High-volume transactional processing, including purchase ledger and sales ledger
  • Bank reconciliations, journal postings, and assisting with monthly close
  • Supporting the production of management accounts across a growing group of businesses
  • Helping prepare VAT returns, fixed asset registers, and payroll journals
  • Collaborating across departments to gather data and resolve queries quickly
  • Getting involved in ad hoc analysis and finance projects as the business continues to expand

The successful Assistant Accountant will be:

  • Proactive, sharp, and able to keep up with a high-energy, deadline-driven finance team
  • An AAT studier or part-qualified accountant, or have solid transactional finance experience
