We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join a thriving retail organisation in Birchwood, Warrington. The ideal candidate will support the accounting and finance team, ensuring accurate financial records and efficient processes.

Description
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Reconcile accounts and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Maintain and update financial records and documentation.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Process key supplier payment runs weekly
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and other compliance documents.
- Collaborate with the wider accounting and finance team to ensure smooth operations.
- Provide support during internal and external audits.
Profile
A successful Assistant Accountant should have:
- A recognised qualification or studying towards AAT
- Previous experience in a similar accounting role within the retail sector is advantageous.
