About Our Client:

A well-established and growing manufacturing business operating within the life sciences and diagnostics sector is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join its leadership team. The organisation has a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and regulatory compliance, supplying products to highly regulated markets globally.

Job Description:

Reporting into senior leadership, the Operations Manager will have full responsibility for end-to-end manufacturing operations at the Winnersh site. This is a pivotal role focused on operational excellence, continuous improvement, and people leadership within a regulated manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Full ownership of site operations, including warehousing, planning, logistics, and facilities
  • Leading, developing, and motivating cross-functional operational teams
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives across safety, quality, cost, delivery, and efficiency
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant quality systems, regulatory standards, and health & safety requirements
  • Managing operational budgets, KPIs, and performance metrics
  • Collaborating closely with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams
  • Supporting capacity planning and future growth initiatives

The Successful Applicant:

The successful candidate will be a hands-on and commercially aware operations leader with experience in a regulated manufacturing environment. You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience in an Operations Manager role
  • Background in life sciences, diagnostics, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or similarly regulated manufacturing
  • Strong people management and leadership capability
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, CI frameworks)
  • Experience with shipping to Ireland is highly desired
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day operational delivery

  • £50k-£55k
  • 7.5k bonus
  • Car allowance/comp car
  • Pension: starting pension contribution is 10% of salary (increases to 15% based on length of service)
