Job Description
Client-Facing Strategic Knowledge Management
- Lead the ESG Knowledge function, delivering thought leadership and tailored knowledge products aligned with the firm\βs ESG strategy.
- Organise client training, knowledge-sharing, and networking events using varied formats.
- Foster collaboration with international partner firms, coordinating joint initiatives and knowledge exchange.
- Enhance the ESG practice\\\βs external profile through social media and coordinated digital engagement.
- Identify business development opportunities in partnership with the BD team, including conference participation and award submissions.
- Ensure alignment between ESG knowledge creation and business development strategy.
- Represent the firm in industry groups and specialist networks to stay ahead of regulatory and market trends.
- Build relationships with ESG knowledge professionals at peer firms.
Internal Knowledge and Training
- Maintain a clear understanding of ESG work-streams across departments.
- Promote cross-departmental collaboration and knowledge-sharing on ESG topics.
- Actively contribute to internal ESG and sustainability working groups.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments, coordinating firm-wide dissemination of key updates.
- Manage ESG know-how resources and ensure effective storage and retention.
- Organise and deliver training sessions on ESG topics across the firm.
- Support lawyers in ESG-related problem-solving and mentor where appropriate.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate will be a technically excellent lawyer with strong leadership and project management skills, capable of navigating fast-evolving ESG regulation. You will likely have:
- Qualification as a solicitor in England and Wales, with significant experience in ESG or related specialisms (e.g. environment, climate, human rights, governance, sustainable finance).
- Prior experience as a Knowledge Lawyer or PSL is advantageous but not absolutely essential.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to measure the impact of knowledge initiatives.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence and advise senior lawyers with credibility.
- Commercial acumen and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with confidence and gravitas.
- Entrepreneurial and curious mindset, with a drive to innovate and improve.
- Collaborative attitude and ability to work effectively within a wider team.
