Job Description
- Oversee the entire bid process, managing the production and submission of high-quality, competitive bids across the North East region.
- Lead and mentor a local bid team, ensuring effective collaboration and high performance.
- Manage the Bid Launch, Bid Review, Post Tender Review, and Handover meetings, ensuring deadlines and client requirements are met.
- Develop and implement bid strategies, working closely with stakeholders to incorporate client win themes and ensure all criteria are addressed.
- Attend site visits to understand project specifics, constraints, and client requirements, integrating this information into bid submissions.
- Produce and review high-quality bid responses, including presentations and supporting documents, to create a compelling first impression.
- Liaise with the Estimating and Business Development teams to ensure pricing, value engineering, and client needs are aligned.
- Maintain and update the Bid & BD Library, ensuring content is relevant and accurate for future bids.
- Manage and review external Bid Writers to ensure the production of quality responses when internal resources are unavailable.
- Conduct Post Tender Reviews and share feedback to ensure continuous improvement of future bids.
- Oversee the management of the Bid & BD Library, creating submission templates, case studies, and project datasheets.

- Proven experience in bid management, with a track record of successfully leading and managing high-value tender submissions.
- Strong experience in bid writing and preparing high-quality responses for public and private sector bids.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop a bid team.
- Ability to think strategically and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Industry-specific knowledge, particularly in public sector procurement and facilities management.
- Proficiency in using bid management platforms such as Salesforce, EVision, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Experience of managing and overseeing external Bid Writers when internal resources are unavailable.
- Experience with the management and maintenance of a Bid & BD Library and related resources.
