Job Description
- Drafting Wills, Powers of Attorney, and related documents.
- Assisting with the administration of estates, including preparing Confirmation applications, inheritance tax forms, and asset schedules.
- Handling guardianship applications and other incapacity-related matters.
- Liaising with clients, beneficiaries, HMRC, banks, and other third parties.
- Maintaining accurate case files and ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements (including Law Society of Scotland standards).
- Providing general support to solicitors and fee earners within the Private Client team.
- Supporting the development of the department\'s client relationships and business development goals
The Successful Applicant
- A Paralegal qualification (ideally from the Law Society of Scotland or similar recognised body).
- Demonstrable experience in Private Client law, ideally within a Scottish law firm.
- Strong understanding of Scottish succession law, Powers of Attorney, and the Confirmation process.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and client-care skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a busy caseload with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in legal software and case management systems.
