My client is a high profile Regulator and the role can either be based in London or Birmingham.

Job Description

Policy Manager (c. 6 months FTC)

Location: London or Birmingham

Role:

  1. Lead the development, delivery, and implementation of key policies, applying robust project management techniques.
  2. Conduct rigorous impact assessments, including equality impact assessments, of policy proposals.
  3. Maintain knowledge of current thinking and best practices within the wider regulatory, legal, professional education, and public policy environments.
  4. Contribute to senior-level discussions and debates that inform the Regulator\’s regulatory policy and education and training agenda.
  5. Represent the Regulator at conferences and other events.
  6. Establish influential relationships at a senior level with key external stakeholders.
  7. Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of regulatory activities, including education and training requirements.
  8. Produce and present a wide range of reports, consultation papers, policy documents, and papers for committees and boards.

The Successful Applicant

  • Strong background in a Policy role with experience in policy development in related environments.
  • Experience leading project teams using robust project management techniques.
  • Decisive with the ability to think independently and produce practical conclusions on complex issues.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Proven ability to produce well-written, complex reports and policy documents.
  • Excellent knowledge of Westminster and Whitehall.
  • An academic background in policy, law, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in policy development and implementation.
  • Strong communication skills to engage stakeholders effectively.
  • Leadership skills and ability to drive strategic objectives.
  • Understanding and commitment to the values of the Not For Profit sector.
