Job Description
We are recruiting Operatives across several of our Cornwall operations, including Mining, Refining and Drying.
You'll be part of a team that values the right attitude, strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
What You'll Do
- Operate safely and comply with all Imerys EHS and Quality requirements
- Support daily operational activities across mining, refining or drying areas
- Monitor processes, inspect equipment to ensure the required quality of products is maintained and fit for onward processing and/or despatch to customers
- Use digital systems including SCADA or control‑room interfaces
- Operate or support mobile plant (training provided)
- Maintain high housekeeping standards
- Contribute to continuous improvement, including I‑Cube initiatives
- Communicate effectively across shifts
- Complete operational and reporting tasks accurately

- Experience in an industrial, manufacturing or outdoor environment - or motivated to learn
- Strong personal commitment to safety and environmental site standards
- Pride in maintaining clean, well‑organised work areas
- Interest in contributing to continuous improvement activities
- Full UK driving licence, with willingness to operate mobile plant
- Forklift experience/licence is beneficial but not essential
- Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills, ideally with exposure to control systems
- Clear communicator who works well with colleagues at all levels
- Willing to undertake further training and develop wide operational skills
- Able to work effectively under own initiative and adapt to changing priorities
- Collaborative team member with a positive, proactive approach

Salary & Hours
Shifts vary by location and may include days, rotating shifts, or 12-hour days/nights. Shift allowances apply
- Day shift (37.5 hrs/week) £24,784.50 per annum.
- 12 hour shifts (38.5 hrs week) £25,445.42 per annum
Shift Allowance
- Shift allowance (12‑hour days & nights) £6,461.65 per annum
- Shift allowance (12‑hour days only) £4,174.82 per annum
- Shift allowance 2 shift- Monday to Friday only) £1,918.80 per annum
