Immediate start role for a charity in Nottingham. Hybrid working, temp to perm for the right candidate.

The organisation is a respected not-for-profit entity dedicated to making a positive impact in its community. It operates as a small-sized team, providing essential services and support to those in need.

To manage and support the Finance Assistant and Accounts Assistant, ensuring supervisory meetings are held regularly and that annual appraisals are completed on time.

To ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded on Exchequer in a timely manner.

To ensure that all control account reconciliations are completed on a monthly basis and any necessary adjustments are made in Exchequer.

To complete the month-end close down and assist the Director of Finance in the preparation of monthly management accounts.

To provide accurate and timely financial information to assist in management decision making.

To work with Departmental Directors and their teams to support and advise in the preparation of the annual budgets and to work with the Director of Finance to produce the organisational budget for Headway.

To work with Departmental Directors and their teams to ensure that budgets are properly monitored and provide timely financial advice and guidance to budget managers as and when required.

To work with Departmental Directors and their teams to prepare financial forecasts and to work with the Director of Finance to produce financial forecasts for Headway.

To assist in producing the year-end accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities SORP.

To submit VAT returns within required timescale.

To oversee and manage payroll, ensuring staff are paid correctly, on time and with appropriate legislative requirements being adhered to.

A successful Finance Manager (Charity) should have:

  • Professional qualifications or a strong background in accounting or finance.
  • Experience in financial management within the not-for-profit sector.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
