Job Description

As a Mobile Plant Operative you will be responsible for operating a Rigid Dump Truck (days) or Medium Wheeled Loaders (days and nights), ensuring all equipment is operated in a safe and efficient manner, in order to maximise the tonnes moved per shift.

In addition, you'll

  • Ensure that excavation and tipping areas are well maintained, following local site rules and local traffic management plans
  • Be operating the equipment at maximum productivity and minimum waiting time
  • Carry out equipment safety checks at the beginning of each shift
  • Work closely with local Site Supervisors to deal with any issues as they arise
  • Keep in close contact with the team using the in-cab radio

We are looking for someone who has preferably worked within a Quarry or Agricultural environment.

This is busy, so timekeeping, having a flexible approach and attention to detail is key!

  • You must be able to legally drive in the UK
  • Previous experience of operating mobile plant and large machinery
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ideally hold MPCQ or CPCS accreditation in the specific class of mobile plant - if you don't have this then training will be provided, to ensure you obtain this qualification

• Salary

£25,445.42 with opportunity of pay progression on completion of training competencies plus shift allowances :

Shift allowance (12‑hour days & nights) £6,461.65 per annum .

Day & Night shift over 2-week period 7am-7pm & 7pm-7am (alternate weekend working) 11 hour shifts with 1h break. - 1 position

Shift allowance (12‑hour days only): £4,174.82 per annum . Days only shift, 11 hour shifts with 1h break, 7.00am - 7.00pm (alternative weekend working) - 4 positions
