Job Description
- Lead on high value transactions and advise stakeholders on a range of commercial and legal issues, typically involving technology, telecommunications and outsourcing (covering cloud, data, hosting, IT infrastructure, information security, software, networks and professional services).
- Partner with stakeholders to work toward their objectives and work collaboratively with them to reach optimal solutions quickly in a complex regulated environment.
- Work with other members of the Legal Senior Leadership team to evolve the function in order to continuously improve the way legal services are delivered.
- Coach, train and develop junior members of the Legal Team and develop training sessions with the wider business in key areas.
The Successful Applicant
- Be a lawyer, qualified in the UK or another Common Law Jurisdiction, who has several years' experience working in-house in a commercial organisation and ideally also in a law firm recognised for technology, media, and telecommunications.
- Be capable of operating at a senior level with C-suite and stakeholders, with good stakeholder management skills, commercial awareness and the ability to see and grasp the bigger picture.
- Have experience and expertise in deal shaping and negotiation across the life-cycle of technology and telecommunications contracts (from procurement, to in-life change, exit and re-procurement), managing external firms in a cost-effective way.
- Be able and willing to work in the Organisation's London office 2/3 days per week on average to deepen their knowledge of the business and their relationship with stakeholders, and at home.
