About Our Client

Job Description
- Provide day-to-day legal support to the business as required, either directly, supporting the General Counsel or by managing support from external counsel.
- Advise the business on various legal issues with a particular emphasis on software licensing including SaaS, data protection and AI.
- Provide practical legal support to our Sales teams to enable them to conclude licensing, services and other commercial contracts, including conducting negotiations with customers and their legal advisors.
- Draft, negotiate and/or review a wide variety of customer, vendor and strategic business partner contracts.
- Draft, review, and negotiate agreements specifically related to AI technologies and data protection, ensuring compliance with current and emerging regulations and best practices.
- Provide assistance with respect to any acquisitions or other corporate activity, including due diligence and post-acquisition business integration.
- Collaborate with and coordinate closely with other members of the Legal, Sales, HR, Procurement, Development, IT and Marketing teams, to drive desired outcomes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally and globally to anticipate and assess emerging legal risk areas across the company, resolve issues and mitigate risks.
- Contribute to the Legal team's knowledge sharing practices.
- Prepare reports for our executive management team regarding contract escalations and various legal issues.
- Assist in handling disputes.
- Handle other Legal matters as needed to help our business achieve its desired outcomes.
The Successful Applicant
- 2+ years of commercial/IT legal and compliance experience at a recognised leading commercial law firm or as part of an in-house team.
- In-house legal experience in the technology sector is desirable.
- Excellent knowledge and practical application of general commercial law and legal issues relating to the provision of IT products and services.
- A clear understanding and practical experience of SaaS & UK/EU data protection legislation.
- An understanding and interest in AI and legal technology.
