Our client is a respected not-for-profit organization in Reading, committed to serving the local community with a small, collaborative team.
Job Description
This is a part-time, office-based role, working three days per week. Key responsibilities include:
- Management of Staff and Functions
- Manage two staff members
- Oversee Finance, Marketing, and Health & Safety functions
- Contribute to strategic development, business planning, and budgeting
- Collaborate with Governance Trustee to ensure compliance with legislation
- Maintain Risk Register in partnership with Governance Trustee
- Financial Control
- Oversee finance operations and governance
- Implement and monitor financial controls, reporting on risks and controls to the Committee
- Produce quarterly income reports and annual reports and accounts
- Manage endowment income checks and grant compliance
- Fund Development and Strategic Planning
- Work with the CEO on income development and budgeting
- Coordinate community funding opportunities
- Produce monthly dashboards for the CEO
- Ensure GDPR compliance
- Update strategic plans and provide quarterly updates to the board
- Oversee monthly payroll and legislative changes affecting finance
- Lead quarterly committee meetings and oversee grant financial assessments
The Successful Candidate
Candidates should have:
- Degree qualification
- Full accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
- Experience in the not-for-profit sector
- Proven leadership as a Finance Controller, Head of Finance, or Finance Director
- Hands-on approach to finance management
- Residency in or near Reading, Berkshire (role requires 3 days in the office)
- Parking availability
- Right to work in the UK
What’s on Offer
- Pro-rata salary of £60,000
- Part-time role, 3 days per week
- Office-based minimum 2 days/week, 1 day remote
- Parking provided
- Initial 3-month contract with potential extension to 6 months
- Possible temp-to-perm opportunity
