Job Description
The In-house Lawyer will be:
- Advising on authorisation processes, regulatory risk, compliance standards and technical regulatory matters.
- Reviewing applications, policies and guidance to ensure regulatory and legal conformity.
- Working with internal stakeholders to assess risk and propose mitigation strategies.
- Monitoring changes in law and regulation and ensuring they are reflected in organisational practices.
- Supporting enforcement or corrective action work when authorisation standards are breached.
The Successful Applicant
The successful In-house Lawyer will be:
- A qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX Lawyer with experience of working in private practice, or in house
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Excellent understanding of regulatory and operational risk
- A track record of managing, delivering solutions, and taking responsibility for the successful resolution of complex issues
- Resilience with the ability to adapt and work in a constantly changing innovative environment
- A proactive problem solver and judgement maker
- The ability to use high level emotional intelligence to build relationships, coach and mentor others to bring out the best in them.
