Job Description

The Fixed Term Contract Privacy Counsel will be part of the Group Legal Function and will:

  • Provide expert advice on privacy and data protection laws within the FMCG / retail / consumer goods industry.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR and other relevant regulations across the organisation.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate data protection agreements and related documentation.
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments and manage data subject requests effectively.
  • Deliver training and support to employees regarding privacy policies and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and implement necessary changes to policies and practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address privacy concerns in business processes.
  • Provide input on data privacy risks during organisational projects and initiatives.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Fixed Term Contract Privacy Counsel should be/have:

  • A qualified solicitor in England & Wales.
  • Experience in a consumer brand would be an advantage.
  • 3+ PQE.
  • Strong knowledge of GDPR and other relevant privacy regulations.
  • Experience in the FMCG industry or a related sector.
  • Proven ability to draft and negotiate legal documents related to data protection.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively.
