General Manager Bristol Based Great opportunity to progress your career About Our Client Our client is a leading entity in the transport and distribution sector, with a workforce of over 17,000 employees. They are renowned for their state-of-the-art logistics solutions and are recognised as a key player in their field. They are based in Bristol and within the Logistics Distribution and Supply chain sector. Job Description The General Manager will be responsible for: Operational Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and direction for all UK business operational activities, including 1m sq. ft. of warehousing, 40 vehicles, ongoing delivery of the operational growth strategy, continuous improvement initiatives and projects. Reporting Structure: Report to the Business Unit Director. Team Management: Lead and develop a high-performing, collective UK operational team (200+ employees) through Head of & Manager level direct reports. Business Growth: An awareness of the potential challenges new site start-up launches can have on collective culture is important to this client. Client Relationships: Maintain and develop an already impressive multi-user customer base. Budget Responsibility: Develop and manage the operational budget in excess of £10m, ensuring financial objectives are achieved while maintaining service & quality. Performance Metrics: Continue to evolve the organisational approach to KPI’s, whilst ensuring existing and new site standardisation. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and industry best practice. Process Optimisation: Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Innovation: Drive innovation, Automation & Robotics along with the adoption of new technologies to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Stakeholder Management: Align objectives, seek resolutions and drive success with UK & International peers. The Successful Applicant A successful General Manager should have: A strong background in logistics within the transport and distribution industry. Proven leadership skills. Excellent understanding of Warehouse & transport regulations and compliance. Strong financial acumen. Excellent relationship management skills. A strategic and creative mindset. The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Exceptional communication skills. Commutable to Avonmouth Daily. What’s on Offer A competitive salary range of £80,000 – £95,000 per annum.
