About Our Client

Job Description

This is an ideal first move from practice or a second move into a broad Reporting and controls role.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS/GAAP.
  • Produce statutory accounts for the PLC and subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with regulatory filing deadlines.
  • Draft notes to the financial statements and support the annual report production process.
  • Coordinate interim and year‑end reporting cycles, including liaison with external auditors.
  • Assist in preparing financial information for investor relations, board packs, and regulatory announcements (e.g., RNS).

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with stock exchange reporting obligations and relevant corporate governance frameworks.
  • Monitor regulatory and accounting standard changes; recommend and implement necessary process updates.
  • Support preparation of filings such as annual reports, interim reports, Pillar 3 disclosures (if financial services), or Form 20‑F (if cross‑listed).

Internal Controls & Governance

  • Maintain robust internal control processes over financial reporting (SOX/UK Corporate Governance Code equivalents).
  • Support internal and external audit requirements, including providing working papers, analysis, and explanations.
  • Participate in control reviews and process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.

Consolidation & Month‑End Close

  • Perform group consolidation, including intercompany reconciliations and elimination entries.
  • Review and validate financial data submissions from subsidiaries.
  • Execute key month‑end accounting tasks such as accruals, provisions, journals, and reconciliations.

Technical Accounting

  • Conduct technical accounting research on complex transactions (e.g., business combinations, leases, revenue recognition, financial instruments).
  • Prepare technical papers to support accounting treatments and judgments for audit review.

Cross‑Functional Support

  • Partner with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Business Units to ensure accuracy and completeness of reported information.
  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting cycles with technical accounting insights.
  • Support finance transformation initiatives and system upgrades (e.g., consolidation tools, ERP).
