Job Description
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production and packaging equipment
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform effective fault diagnosis and repair
- Ensure all machinery operates in line with food safety and hygiene standards (e. g., HACCP)
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete all documentation
- Work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and optimize performance
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations at all times
- Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment
- Monitor and maintain utilities (e. g., steam, refrigeration, compressed air systems)
- Identify root causes of recurring faults and implement corrective actions
- The Successful Applicant
- Proven experience as a maintenance or shift engineer in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment
- Strong electrical and/or mechanical engineering skills
- Experience with PLC fault finding (desirable)
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced production environment
- Relevant engineering qualification (e. g., NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent)
- Electrical certification (e. g., 18th Edition) - desirable
