As the Director of Property Services, you'll provide strategic leadership across the property services portfolio, managing an annual budget exceeding £9 million and leading a dedicated team of professionals. This is a unique opportunity to drive innovation and excellence in housing service delivery while making a real difference to residents' lives. You will be a full member of the Corporate Management Team, contributing to the strategic direction.

The role responsibilities as Director of Property Services are:

  • Strategic leadership of all property services, including repairs, maintenance, compliance, and capital works
  • Development and implementation of comprehensive asset management strategies
  • Oversight of major investment programmes and new building projects
  • Management of critical compliance and safety programmes
  • Leading digital transformation initiatives to enhance service delivery
  • Building and maintaining strong partnerships with contractors and stakeholders

The successful Director of Property Services should have:

  • Minimum 5 years' senior management experience in property services, preferably within social housing
  • Degree level qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Building Surveying, Facilities Management)
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (RICS, CIH, or CIOB)
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale repairs and maintenance services
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in managing substantial budgets
  • Excellence in stakeholder management and communication at all levels
  • Demonstrable success in driving service improvements and cultural change
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle and able to drive to Saffron Walden
  • Ability to participate in senior management on-call rota
  • Flexibility to attend evening meetings when required
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare
