Job Description

Relationship Manager - Scandinavian Coverage
Client Relationship Management
Assist the Heads of Corporate Banking and Financial Institutions & Trade Finance in developing and maintaining relationships with both prospective and current clients, ensuring the achievement of financial and strategic goals.
Manage a portfolio of investment-grade Scandinavian corporates, with a focus on establishing and nurturing long-standing relationships.
Serve as the main liaison for clients, understanding their financial requirements and delivering bespoke banking solutions.
Lead client engagements including meetings, presentations, and deal negotiations involving funding solutions, deal structuring, and credit terms.
Represent the bank at sector events, client functions, and networking venues to raise the bank\'s profile in Scandinavia.
Sustain existing client connections while pursuing new corporate business prospects across the Scandinavian region.
Assist in negotiating and drafting financing agreements for clients in cooperation with the Heads of Corporate Banking and Financial Institutions & Trade Finance.
Credit Analysis and Deal Structuring
Draft and submit credit proposals for new corporate facilities in Scandinavia, perform Know Your Customer (KYC) due diligence, coordinate with Loans Administration, and complete periodic credit reviews.
Conduct thorough financial analysis and credit assessments for clients, particularly focusing on investment-grade corporates within the Scandinavian market.
Design and implement sophisticated financing solutions, such as structured finance arrangements, term loans, and syndicated lending.
Prepare detailed credit submissions, incorporating financial modelling, risk assessment, and due diligence findings, for presentation to credit approval authorities.
Market Intelligence and Business Development
Track economic, industry, and regulatory developments across Scandinavia to uncover new business opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience
1) Educational Background:
A strong academic record with a good university degree (minimum equivalent to a UK 2:1 classification).
Postgraduate qualifications or professional certifications such as a Master\'s degree, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Accountant, or MRICS are highly desirable.
2) Professional Experience:


  • At least 7 to 8 years of hands-on credit analysis experience, primarily involving Scandinavian clients and industries, with sound exposure to UK corporate credit, trade finance, and ideally some experience with banks or other financial institutions.

  • Demonstrated expertise in managing relationships with investment-grade Scandinavian corporates, with in-depth knowledge of their financial structures and market environment.

Skills (Essential)

  • Strong credit evaluation skills with experience in both corporate and ideally financial institution (FI) lending. Some familiarity with analyzing structured or complex transactions is advantageous.

  • Advanced proficiency in financial analysis.

  • Exceptional numeracy and comfort with financial data.

  • Skilled in building and interpreting financial models.

  • Solid understanding of banking instruments and capital market products.

  • Capable of assessing cross-border credit risk.

  • Informed about market trends, including developments in financial markets, relevant industry sectors, and macroeconomic or geopolitical changes.
