The Role
This is a key position within the Knowledge team, providing professional support to fee earners across the Tax & Reward group.
- Responding to fee‑earner queries and helping them access resources;
- Preparing internal updates and newsletters on technical and policy developments;
- Working with the Tax Policy team on law reform proposals and HMRC consultations;
- Supporting junior lawyers and fostering a collaborative environment.
Practice Development
- Assisting with articles and thought leadership pieces for technical and trade publications;
- Supporting business development initiatives and working groups;
- Collaborating with Marketing and Tax Policy teams on client‑facing content.
Knowledge Management
- Generating and maintaining know‑how contributions and precedents;
- Improving knowledge resources and systems for efficient access;
- Supporting firmwide projects to upgrade knowledge management tools.
Education and Training
- Planning and delivering technical training programmes, including conferences and weekly sessions;
- Coordinating junior lawyer and trainee training;
- Assisting with external client events, webinars, and seminars.
Projects and Initiatives
- Working with the LawTech team on innovation projects;
- Representing the group in firmwide Knowledge Lawyer meetings;
- Engaging with external networks such as the City Tax PSL Network.
The Successful Applicant
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Associate seeking to transition into a Knowledge Lawyer role or someone already in a similar position.
- Be a qualified UK lawyer with at least five years' PQE (lower levels considered for exceptional candidates);
- Have strong technical expertise in tax law and recent market experience;
- Be proactive, self‑motivated, and committed to delivering high‑quality technical support;
- Possess excellent organisational and communication skills.
Knowledge Lawyers are integral to the team and may have direct client contact for training, updates, and business development activities.
