A London based University is looking for a Business Development Director to drive the implementation of a business acquisition strategy and income generation.

Job Description: The Business Development Director will drive the implementation of a business acquisition strategy, grow income generation across our diverse portfolio of research activities and ensure long-term sustainability through innovative partnerships and funding streams.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Contribute to the strategic leadership team & ensure operational excellence in business development and delivery functions.
- As part of the Senior Leadership Team, take a lead role in the implementation of forward-looking business strategy aligned with the strategic plan and targets set by the University.
- Identify and secure competitive and non-competitive funding opportunities in the UK and internationally.
- Grow the funding base and income through finding and securing research, consultancy, enterprise activities, professional training, and knowledge exchange initiatives.
- Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with development agencies, government bodies, foundations, and private sector stakeholders.
The Successful Applicant: A successful Business Development Director should have the following skillset/experience:
- A collaborative and impact-driven leader with a strong network of contacts and a proven track record in securing funding and managing complex partnerships.
- Extensive experience in business development, fundraising, or strategic partnerships in a research or development context or enterprise leadership that will bring strategic insight and entrepreneurial flair to the role.
- Demonstrated success in securing significant external funding and managing large-scale projects funding agencies and funders related to research, innovation, humanitarian aid, international development, commercial or social enterprise.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and inspire stakeholders.
- Proven track record of delivering a significant and sustained body of impacts or outcomes with demonstrable benefits to businesses, the public sector or society in general.
- Proven experience in effective financial management.
