The Banking team has a strong focus on innovation, technology and continuous improvement, with a commitment to delivering more efficient ways of working for both clients and fee earners. A key element of the role involves managing and delivering an in‑house AI and document automation programme, alongside the ongoing maintenance, development and enhancement of a broad suite of precedent and standard banking documentation.
In addition, the role includes:
- Supporting general know‑how projects across the Banking practice
- Responding to know‑how queries and issues arising from both emerging market developments and established areas of banking law
- Contributing proactively to the development of new ideas, initiatives and working practices
The role holder will manage specific projects and deliver strategic initiatives, particularly in relation to AI, automation, standards and future working practices. Working closely with senior knowledge lawyers, partners and senior fee earners, the role provides high‑quality know‑how and professional support services that enhance both client delivery and internal efficiency. The position plays an active role in supporting the ongoing development of the Banking practice, including on an international basis, with responsibility for producing clear, accurate and high‑quality materials.
The Successful Applicant
- Ideally 2+ years' PQE within a Banking or Finance practice, gained at a leading firm
- Willingness and ability to take ownership of significant projects and initiatives
- Interest in technology, innovation and process improvement; any coding or programming exposure is welcomed but not essential
- Commercially minded, with a practical and solutions‑focused approach
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to deliver projects efficiently and to a high standard
- Comfortable working as part of a diverse and inclusive team
- Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to work additional hours where required
