Key Responsibilities for the Logistics Commercial Manager:

  • Own and develop the commercial relationship with a portfolio of strategic customers, ensuring retention, growth, and long-term partnership.
  • Drive profitability across accounts through robust commercial management, forecasting, and joint business planning.
  • Work collaboratively with Site General Managers to conduct annual customer appraisals and contribute recommendations at board level.
  • Lead and chair regular customer review meetings, ensuring strong engagement between customers and operational teams.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for commercial issues, ensuring effective communication and timely resolution.
  • Support contract negotiations, balancing operational capability, cost control, and customer expectations.
  • Identify and exploit commercial opportunities to grow share of wallet and embed customers within the wider network.
  • Deliver agreed financial KPIs across volume, revenue, margin, and service performance.
  • Work cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Marketing, and HR to implement effective account strategies.

About You:

  • Proven experience in a commercial, account management, or operations within logistics, supply chain, FMCG, or a related sector.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing P&L, margins, and customer profitability.
  • Confident manager, able to influence at senior customer and internal leadership level.
  • Experience working across multi-site operations is highly desirable.
  • Highly organised, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to customer locations and operational sites.
