This role is within a respected Local Authority operating in the public sector. The company is a medium-sized entity focused on delivering efficient property management services in Brentwood.

Conduct thorough inspections of properties to identify damp and mould issues. Prepare detailed reports outlining findings and recommended actions. Advise on solutions to rectify and prevent damp and mould problems. Collaborate with contractors and other stakeholders to ensure timely repairs. Monitor the progress of remedial works and ensure compliance with standards. Maintain accurate records of inspections and completed works. Provide technical support and guidance to the property management team. Ensure health and safety regulations are adhered to throughout all activities. Lead on building inspections relating to disrepair, damp, mould, and condensation issues within the housing stock. Provide expert diagnosis and recommend remedial works, ensuring that all advice is technically sound and in line with legislation and internal policies. Prepare detailed reports to support legal disrepair cases in line with Section 11 of the Landlord and Tenant Act. Act as a technical advisor to internal teams, legal departments, and external solicitors, and attend court where required. Oversee and review contractor performance, ensuring repairs and remedial works are completed to standard and within required timeframes. Provide clear communication to residents, managing expectations and maintaining high levels of customer service. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant building regulations, legislation, and best practice, particularly relating to social housing and fitness for human habitation.

  • Proven experience managing disrepair and damp & mould cases, with sound understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Excellent diagnostic, report writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and communicate technical information clearly.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential).
