Our client is taking their Unit4 finance systems from on-premises to the cloud. They are looking for a Business Analyst who understands Unit4 to assist with this.

Description
Key responsibilities:- Working alongside the ITS Project Manager, the contract BA will be responsible for carrying out business analysis activities on the programme.
- They will work closely with ITS delivery teams and technical specialists as well as non-technical stakeholders such as finance teams.
- The work will involve working with stakeholders to understand and analyse complex finance-related processes, data flows and system integrations.
- The contract BA will be expected to challenge current thinking to ensure that the migrated processes, data flows and system integrations are efficient and that the new environment has minimal customisations.
- Working with minimal supervision, the contract BA will manage their work effectively and collaborate with the project manager to ensure that analysis activities align with wider project plans.
- They will plan and facilitate meetings, workshops and other activities to elicit the information needed from technical specialists and stakeholders.
- They will work with the IT systems lead, data and enterprise architects to ensure that analysis outputs meet ITS standards and provide the necessary level of detail.
- They will present information visually, verbally and in writing, and be responsible for producing high quality business analysis outputs.
- Take responsibility for business analysis activities on the project - planning and managing the analysis work to fit in with wider project plans.
- Manage the elicitation, documentation, prioritisation, validation and sign-off of business and technical requirements and their acceptance criteria.
- Work with stakeholders to analyse, model and document finance-related business processes, data flows, systems, and system integrations.
- Plan, manage and facilitate on-site, hybrid and remote meetings, interviews, workshops and other business analysis activities.
- Analyse information gathered from multiple stakeholders, pro-actively identifying gaps, resolving conflicts and challenging constructively when needed.
- Work with stakeholders to define acceptance criteria for requirements.
- Work with the IT systems lead, data and enterprise architects to ensure that analysis outputs meet ITS standards.
- Prepare user acceptance testing scenarios and test cases.
- Support user acceptance testing activities, liaising between users, stakeholders, and development teams.
- Collaborate with the project manager to identify and log project risks and contribute to project highlight reporting as required.
- Ensure that the analysis adheres to all relevant University policies and systems, ensuring any audit requirements and institutional standards are met.
- Set up and lead multi-disciplinary groups as and when required.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders throughout the project.
- Present findings, updates, or reports both verbally and in written format, to key stakeholders, senior managers, the project team and/or project board.
- Act as a trusted partner and point of reference to others, using specialist knowledge of business analysis to provide advice and guidance to senior managers, team leaders and other colleagues, particularly around the wider or more holistic implications of business change.
- Proven experience as a business analyst working on previous complex technical migration/transformation projects.
- Previous experience of carrying out business analysis on projects involving finance/ERP systems and for cloud migrations.
- Significant experience of systems and process analysis including producing diagrams, maps and models, documenting data flows and system integrations.
- Previous experience of all aspects of business analysis including requirements elicitation, documentation, prioritisation and validation, definition of acceptance criteria and data analysis.
- Experience of facilitating on-site, hybrid and remote meetings workshops, meetings and interviews.
- Experience of working on multiple workstreams/projects at the same time within a complex programme.
- Experience as a business analyst in a Higher Education environment.
- Previous experience in a technical role.
This role is initially until end of July 2025. Outside IR35. Hybrid working.
