Communications and relationships
- Builds strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the assigned business area.
- Attends relevant business meetings and forums to represent IT and ensure alignment between business requirements and IT capabilities.
- Understands both tactical and strategic business requirements and identifies how IT can support them.
- Owns the relationship between the business area and IT, acting as an ambassador for IT.
- Provides monthly reporting to Steering Committee meetings on the status of change initiatives.
- Understands the Business Strategy and its implications for IT strategy.
- Identifies how business and IT strategies impact operational processes and works with appropriate teams to ensure successful implementation.
- Identifies key challenges and issues within the business area and develops solutions to address them.
Demand management
- Acts as the focal point for IT demand within the assigned business area.
- Develops a strong understanding of the assigned business area to clearly identify and articulate demand.
- Identifies current and future demand for IT services.
- Works with the business to develop business cases for new demand.
- Ensures the IT project pipeline accurately reflects business priorities and needs.
- Supports and, where necessary, leads or champions the business through change management activities.
Service assurance
- Ensures IT services meet the needs of the assigned business area.
- Gathers feedback on IT services and works with the IT Service Management team to agree and deliver improvement actions.
- Owns relationships with third-party suppliers to ensure the business receives optimal service and value for money.
- Uses deep understanding of the assigned business area to ensure that transitions from delivery into live service are seamless.
Innovation
- Champions innovation and continuous process improvement.
- Identifies opportunities for business improvement and cost reduction.
- Promotes innovation across the organisation by sharing ideas and best practices between business areas.
Business change management
- Responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of projects, associated business change outcomes, and the realisation of benefits.
Profile
- Knowledge of ITIL, Prince2 and Agile methodology and working practices preferable but not essential.
- Degree Qualified or equivalent work experience.
- Experience of work in large multi business unit corporate organisations and centralised IT functions.
- Experience working with Board Level Directors (C-suite).
- Exceptional Stakeholder and Relationship Management.
- Excellent understanding of travel, transport, and logistics operations.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Highly accomplished to communicate complex problems in a non-technical and simplified manner.
- Highly accomplished to effectively communicate business needs to IT.
- Ability to effectively quantify and translate technical solutions from business 'problems'.
- Attention to detail and excellent analytic skills.
- Highly self-motivated and well organised and able to work on own initiative.
