We're looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Modern Workplace Technology Manager to help drive the evolution of our client's Digital Workplace environment. This will be a strategic and technical role, where you'll be responsible for shaping and delivering key transformation programmes, including a company-wide upgrade to Windows 11, and migration from Citrix to Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). You'll take ownership of the design, development, and implementation of these initiatives, ensuring the workplace technology remains scalable, secure, and aligned with business growth.
Working cross-functionally, you'll serve as the key link between operations, solution architecture, business change teams, and third-party suppliers, ensuring the seamless delivery and ongoing optimisation of the Modern Workplace estate.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with key stakeholders, including the Service Delivery Manager, to ensure a smooth, modern, and efficient user experience.
- Developing and maintaining robust technology roadmaps that ensure fault tolerance, resilience, and scalability by design.
- Acting as the subject matter expert (SME) on Modern Workplace Technology across medium to large projects and complex service rollouts.
- Managing third-party suppliers to ensure service excellence and timely delivery of new capabilities.
- Identifying and presenting business cases for continuous improvement, focusing on performance, efficiency, and user satisfaction.
- Supporting escalations during business-as-usual operations and warranty periods of newly introduced services.
Given the collaborative nature of the role, you will work at least 3 days a week at the company headquarters near Birmingham.
As the successful candidate for the Modern Workplace Technology Manager role, you will have strong experience delivering impactful workplace technology solutions and a solid background in:
- Designing and implementing workplace services (HLD/LLD).
- Leading OS upgrades and large-scale desktop environment transitions (eg Citrix to AVD).
- End-to-end hardware life cycle management and standardisation.
- Asset management (hardware/software), reporting, and continuous improvement.
- Creating compelling business cases with a focus on end-user experience and budget control.
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online.
- ITIL Foundation certification (desirable).
