This role is a management/technology consulting position with a data and AI specialism, responsible for leading client engagements, advising CIO/CDO-level stakeholders, and translating business challenges into effective data and AI solutions.

A FTSE 250 professional services organisation that partners primarily with mid-market and enterprise organisations, engaging senior technology and data leaders (CIOs, CDOs, Heads of Data) on transformation initiatives across data, analytics, and AI. It is entrepreneurial in nature, focused on building differentiated consulting propositions, and offers senior hires the opportunity to shape new practice areas rather than operate within a rigid consulting structure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead data and AI consulting engagements end-to-end, owning client outcomes across data strategy, platforms, analytics, and AI initiatives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to CIOs, Chief Data Officers, and senior technology leaders, confidently translating business challenges into practical, value-driven data and AI solutions.
  • Ensure structured, high-quality consulting delivery, acting as an engagement manager or workstream lead as required.
  • Design, shape, and evolve data and AI consulting propositions, creating reusable methodologies, frameworks, and playbooks.
  • Support sales and consulting colleagues by providing technical credibility in client meetings and contributing to proposals, statements of work, and solution design.
  • Identify and shape new data and AI opportunities based on client needs and emerging market demand.
  • Act as the internal lead for data and AI, mentoring consultants and supporting capability development across the practice.
  • Contribute to thought leadership by staying close to developments in data, analytics, and AI, and helping position the firm as a credible advisor in AI-enabled transformation.

Profile

  • We're looking for a commercially minded consultant with Data & AI expertise who wants to lead client delivery and play a defining role in building a growing consulting practice.
  • An experienced management or technology consultant with a strong focus on data, analytics, and AI, operating at Manager, Senior Manager, or Principal level within a Big Four or boutique consultancy.
  • Proven experience leading data and AI consulting engagements, from problem definition through to structured delivery and client outcomes.
  • Strong grounding in modern data architectures, platforms, analytics, and AI, with the credibility to engage confidently with both technical specialists and senior business stakeholders.
  • Comfortable advising CIOs, Chief Data Officers, and Heads of Data, bridging business strategy and technical delivery with clarity and pragmatism.
  • Demonstrated engagement management and consulting delivery skills, producing high-quality outputs such as strategies, roadmaps, target-state designs, and business cases.
  • Commercially aware, with experience supporting opportunity shaping, proposals, statements of work, and client presentations.
  • Entrepreneurial in mindset and motivated by the opportunity to build and shape a growing Data & AI capability, rather than inherit a fully established practice.
  • Confident operating in ambiguity, proactive in identifying opportunities, and focused on creating long-term value for clients and the firm.

Job Offer

  • Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 basic, depending on experience.
  • Car: Company car or car allowance.
  • Bonus: Performance-related bonus (up to 20%).
  • Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package, including pension, private healthcare, and additional perks.
  • Working model: UK-based with hybrid working flexibility.

This role offers a competitive package aligned to senior consulting positions, alongside the opportunity to play a visible role in shaping a growing Data & AI consulting capability with clear progression potential.
