We are looking for an experienced Transport Manager to set the tone and pace for delivering a safe, compliant and efficient transport operation. This is a hands-on operational leadership role with responsibility for a transport/site operations team. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards across safety, compliance, performance, housekeeping and people management, while fostering a strong safety-led culture on site.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the safe and legally compliant operation of all site transport activities
- Ensure compliance with legislation, road traffic, driver hours, tachograph
- Manage daily transport planning including routes, schedules and load movements
- Oversee vehicle checks, defect reporting, servicing and MOT compliance
- Monitor driver performance, hours and attendance, addressing risks and trends
- Act as site lead for transport audits, inspections and corrective actions
- Oversee all yard activity to ensure safe, efficient movement, processing and storage of materials
