Description
- Report to the Group Finance Compliance and Governance Manager
- Support the development and enhancement of governance and internal controls across Group financial processes
- Review, maintain, and update Group Directives, policies, and Finance & Accounting manuals
- Monitor upcoming changes in UK Accounting Standards and the UK Corporate Governance Code and translate requirements into clear guidance for stakeholders
- Help design and deliver implementation programmes to ensure compliance with new regulatory and governance requirements
- Liaise cross-functionally across the Group to support governance and control initiatives
- Assess and recommend systems and software solutions to strengthen controls
- Provide technical accounting guidance, mentoring, and training support to finance team members
- Assist with the coordination, completion, and review of Group internal controls matrices
- Review subsidiary financial statements prior to finalisation, including reconciliation to Group consolidation packs
- Support the Group Strategy team on acquisitions and divestments, including financial due diligence
Profile
A successful Group Finance Compliance & Governance Accountant should have:
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Able to produce clear and concise technical information and reports
